NEWS

19th Apr 2009 - A few more links added to the photos page, get in touch if you would like yours added.

The deadline for the Dagger/Palm foamie boater competition has been extended by a week to give everyone a bit more time to finish their videos off. There are some entries already linked from the facebook group.

Most of the results are now online here too.

If you have the login details for your university, then please pass them on to whoever will be in charge of organising your entry next year and get them to log on and update the uni info and contact pages.

The information page has been removed from the top navigation bar to make way for the results, but is still linked at the bottom or available here if you want to see it.

30th Mar 2009 - It's all over now for another year and it was epic! Our thanks go to everyone who came along and helped make it so good.

Special thanks to PGL for their excellent continuing support for the event and Dagger/Palm for sorting us out with such an awesome main prize (if you haven't seen the videos yet, check them out further down the page).

Thanks also go to everyone from LUUCC, all our sponsors, the safety team, River Legacy (especially Dizzy), the judges, Extreme Events, Gold Squadron (the toastie team) and Red Squadron (the first aid team).

The results will be online sometime soon but for now head over to the photos page and have a look at some pictures of the weekend. If you send us a link of your own gallery then we will add it to the photos page.

Thanks again

Paul and Luke, NSR 2009 Organisers

24th Mar 2009 - It's coming!!! But first a few important details...

When you get to the site registration will be at the campsite entrance. Here your captain will be able to collect all the stuff for your uni including goody bags, agreement forms (saves you having to remember to bring copies) and merchandise. Registration will probably close around midnight. If you arrive after that then I'm afraid you won't be able to come to the party on friday night and you'll be able to register at Ground Control on saturday morning.

The agreement forms must be filled in and signed and brought along to the registration area with valid ID where they will be exchanged for a wristband and an information booklet (which don't forget includes your LiLi raffle form along with lots of other important information). Don't forget Happy Hour on friday from 9-10pm in the marquees - Just £1 a pint!

You WILL NOT be allowed into the marquee complex without a wristband. You will also not be allowed in with a bag or any alcohol. If you have any problems at the party please speak to the nearest bouncer. This includes first aid issues. Also please try and help us by using the recycling bins available in the marquees.

Once you leave the party please take care on the roads between the party and the campsite. Once you get to the campsite there will be security patrolling so please keep the volume down.

On saturday morning the extreme slalom is likely to start early so that we get the most out of the course time we have. Start times will be available at the party on friday evening. Due to the fact that paddlefest is using most of the carpark you will be able to drive vans down and quickly drop boats of next to the course, but then you will have to take them to the overflow carpark.

Ground control (and first aid during the day) will be on the hill halfway down the slalom course. If you have any problems then please come and see us here. But be aware we get fed up of answering questions that shouldn't need to be asked. Keep an eye on the electronic scoreboard and an ear on the PA for important announcements.

You will not be able to use the part of the course that is reserved for paddlefest at any particular time unless you have paid paddlefest to demo a boat or attend a workshop.

If you're bored on sunday morning then feel free to come along to the marquee site and help us take them down.

I've made a neat Google map with lots of information on it too, you can find it here.

I have e-mailed club captains my mobile number in case you need to get in touch if you have any problems.

And finally, I've added another poster to the downloads page. It shows Paul (left) and Luke, your esteemed NSR Captains. If you see us over the weekend come up and say hi. I-Canoe have also come on board as sponsors this week with a couple of cool prizes.

Then send a cheque to the usual place (details can be found in the registration area) with "curry" written on the back. The cheque must reach us before the
