The National Student Rodeo 2012 is organised by LUUCC together with River Legacy.
Event Location
National Water Sports Centre
More fondly called HPP by those who know it, the National Water Sports Centre in Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham, is home to one of the best man made white water courses in the UK. Having been host to the European Freestyle Championships in 2006, HPP is an excellent venue for freestyle kayaking, and we are lucky enough to have exclusive use of the course for one weekend of the year to prove this to you all.
Although to us the white water kayaking aspect of HPP will always be at the forefront of our minds, the Centre offers so much more. In terms of kayaking, the Centre offers top coaching for those who are newer to the sport, whether you just want a session to brush up on those key skills or whether you want to achieve your BCU 1 star or 2 star award. There is also the possibility to undertake Water Rescue Training. This is not kayaking specific, but will certainly help with your awareness and safety skills on the river!
Another huge side to the National Water Sports Centre is white water rafting. You can book one of their give it a go sessions with friends (each raft can take up to 8 people), or for the more experienced among us, you can start your training for a career as a raft guide, recognised all over the world so very useful for those thinking about travelling!
The Centre also offers training in water sports such as sailing and water skiing, as well as land based activities and group packages. For more information about all that is offered, please visit their website
